GAHC operates under a financial services model and not, necessarily, those of a social organization. Yet social values are the basis for GAHC's not-for-profit status. Accordingly, the organization must constantly balance how it accomplishes both of these goals. Similarly, the development of an organization of this type was and continues to be a dynamic process.
To achieve the organization's goals, GAHC builds collaborative relationships with individuals representing various industries and interests. In addition, the organization offers viable financing products and services. The result of these two activities is the housing construction undertaken for low-moderate income families in Colquitt, Upson, Paulding, Dougherty, Fulton, Douglas, and Houston Counties.
The commitment of many individuals and organizations gives GAHC its strong foundation. The cornerstone to the organization's success is the support it receives from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta and member financial institutions. Several partnerships are also vital to GAHC's success. These community partners include the Enterprise Foundation, Georgia Department of Community Affairs, developers, housing advocates, regulatory agencies and affiliate member companies. I also want to acknowledge the staff of the GAHC for their continuous hard work and commitment to the organization.
On behalf of the Georgia Affordable Housing Corporation, I welcome you to the GAHC Website. On the basis of our products and services, we look forward to making your affordable housing efforts more productive.
Sincerely,
David C. Young
President
